Materials
2.50 mm crochet hook
- 100 % cotton yarn for a 2.50 mm hook (8/8 – DK Worsted)
- A pair of 8 mm safety eyes
- Tapestry needle and pins
- Polyfiber fill  
 
Colors
- Brown 
- Coral red
- Yellow
- A bit of pink to embroider the cheeks and a bit of black to embroider the nose

st = stitch
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
 
Finished size: 
From head to toe, your finished bear measures 22 cm approximately.
Of course, should you choose a different hook and yarn, final measures will vary.

Muzzle
Using brown...
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (18)
4. and 5. Crochet 18 sc
Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. 
 
Thread a bit of black yarn into your tapestry needle and embroider a few straight stitches to create the nose in the muzzle. Set aside for a while.
 
 
Leg 1 
Using brown...
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (18)
4. Only through back loops, crochet 18 sc
5. to 10. Crochet 18 sc
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends. Set aside.
 
Leg 2 + Body
Using brown...
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st*, repeat * (18)
4. Only through back loops, crochet 18 sc
5. to 10. Crochet 18 sc
11. With leg 2 still on your hook, chain 3 and join leg 1 with 1 sc. Crochet further 17 sc along leg 1 and then crochet 3 sc on one of the sides of the 3-ch-chain. Now crochet 18 sc along leg 2, and finally 3 sc on the other side of the 3-ch-chain. Total stitches: 42

2. Chain 1 and turn. Crochet 2 sc in each stitch (50)
3. Chain 1 and turn. Crochet 2 sc in each stitch (100)
4. to 5. Chain 1 and turn. Crochet 1 sc in each stitch (100)
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
 
Crown
Using yellow…
1. Magic ring of 6 sc
2. Crochet 2 sc in each st (12)
3. Crochet 2 sc in each st (24)
4. Only through back loops, crochet 24 sc
5. Crochet *6 sc, one decrease*, repeat * (20)
6. Crochet *3 sl st, 2 hdc + 1 picot stitch + 1 hdc all in the same stitch*, repeat * 5 times.
 Crochet 1 last slst to finish. Fasten off yarn, leaving a long tail to sew to the head.
 
Picot stitch: chain 3. Then crochet one sc on the first of those stitches (third chain from hook). Continue with the following stitches.
 
Assembly
- Stuff the muzzle lightly and sew it between the eyes.
- Curve the ears and sew them to both sides of the head.
- Sew the arms to the sides of the body
- Stuff the tail lightly and sew it to the back of your bear.
- Using the long initial tail, knot the collar around the neck.
- Weave in all ends inside the dolls.
